A gift to the Center can make a difference in helping us bring intellectual diversity and engagement to the campus. Every gift, whatever its size, is needed and appreciated by the Center. The University of Wisconsin Foundation, established in 1945, raises, invests, and distributes funds for the benefit of the UW-Madison and other donor-designated units of the University of Wisconsin System. How you choose to make a gift is a matter of personal preference and situation. Steve Kean, the Foundation’s director of development for the College of Letters and Science, would be pleased to meet with you to answer your questions about charitable contributions to the Center. For more information on the Center and how to contribute a gift, please contact the Center’s directors or Steve Kean of the UW Foundation at 608-265-3526 or

Foundational Support

The Center for the Study of Liberal Democracy, housed in the College of Letters and Science,  has been funded from the beginning by generous grants from the Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. More recently, the CSLD has received generous support from the Charles Koch Foundation in Arlington, VA. We invite you to become involved in our efforts to expand intellectual diversity on campus.
