Civic Literacy and Citizenship Symposium 2021

Civic Literacy and Citizenship

The Center for the Study of Liberal Democracy (CSLD) is hosting a two-day symposium at the Great Wolf Lodge in Wisconsin Dells on October 21-23, 2021. This symposium, titled “Civic Literacy and Citizenship,” seeks to enhance high school teaching in texts and ideas that contribute to a deeper understanding of America’s history, citizenship, and founding principles, and the wider traditions that influenced their development. We will feature scholars from UW–Madison, UW–Eau Claire, UW–Stout, and Carthage College.

The event is co-sponsored by the Center and the Center for the Study of Liberal Democracy at UW–Madison and the Jack Miller Center for Teaching America’s Founding Principles and History.
