More than a Matter of Taste: The Moral Imagination and the Spirit of Literature

UW Law School, Room 2260
@ 12:00 pm

How can we inhabit the moral imagination in a way that avoids heavy-handed moralism? Can looking at the world through the “million windows” of the “house of fiction” really elevate or transfigure our lives? In this public lecture, author and scholar Joshua Hren presents fresh takes on questions of timeless significance.

Hren is founder and editor of Wiseblood Books and co-founder of the Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at the University of St. Thomas, Houston, and and was co-founder of the Great Books Honors College at Belmont Abbey. He currently serves as Scholar-in-Residence at the Irenaeus Institute for Catholic Thought.
